Wouldn't it be amazing if everything in your life went perfectly according to plan? How easy would that be for you? Sounds awesome right? Well as we all know, that doesn't happen. It's often too easy to let these little hiccups throw you off but there's a few simple tricks you can use to help yourself stay on track towards your goals and towards making intentionally healthy choices.

Accept the situation. While having to deal with it may be stressful, you don't have to let it rule you. And I promise whatever happened, it's not the end of the world. This is where a little bit of self-awareness and also forgiveness come into play. That's not to say you need to let every hiccup, every snag at work, every family drama become an excuse for you to fall back into old patterns and bad habits.

The beautiful thing is we always have a choice. We can always choose how to respond to a given situation. Schedule get thrown off? Luckily you planned ahead and packed some healthy snacks in your office drawer. Get stuck late at work and don't have time to cook? That's okay, you know enough now to order takeout in a way that will still hit your nutritional needs. Have to travel so you can't make your regular gym or workout sessions? No worries, you can download a free app to do some 7 minute workouts and make an effort to take a walk in the mornings before breakfast.

You see, when it's important to you to stick to your healthy routine, there's always something small you can control. You can control how many glasses of water you drink. You can control what time you set your alarm for the morning. You can control what you do with that 10 or 20-minute break at work. You always have something in your power that will be a better choice than either nothing at all or falling back to bad patterns. So trust yourself! Trust that you are strong enough to get through whatever life throws at you and do so with style, with flair and with determination to continue marching forward toward your goals.
