Marie makes some changes heading into the final 4 weeks

"After looking at my dinner menu choices for week 8 I didn’t feel I would have any good leftovers for lunch. Some dinners make better leftovers than others. Seafood, mushrooms, and stuffed peppers don’t sound appealing reheated. I decided my new lunch could be a serious salad. I needed to consume less bread carbs. I needed a serious salad without all the bad stuff (cheese, fatty dressings, or more cheese). I ended up with mixed greens, cucumber, diced bell pepper, radishes, broccoli, red onion, carrots, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and a homemade dressing. The freshness can’t be beat. My morning snacks now consist of protein shakes. running legsI made yet another change this week. I have been trying to find ways to motivate my husband to exercise. Two weeks ago he picked out a new pair of running shoes and has used them for walking. I couldn’t get him to go to boot camp or the gym with me. I’m not a runner. Running has always been a thorn in my side. I don’t run. Well, I finally broke down and offered to use the C25K app (Couch to 5k app) if he would join me for a run. He took the offer so Saturday morning we tried the interval running app.  It wasn’t bad. I ran. I didn’t vomit or die. I just ran. I may become a runner after all. Maybe I can run those 3 inches off my hips. Let’s go week 9!" Missed the last few updates from Marie? Read about her week 6 and week 7, or visit her main page to see how far she's come!
