Shelley comments on healthy lifestyle challenges of reFORMing in week 3

This coming week will sum up the 4 week mark from when I started this transformation process. So far so good! Now that I am accustom to working out 3 days a week, I don't know what I would do without it. It's almost like "me" time that I don't get otherwise. I've started realizing that since I'm investing so much time and money into "me" and my body, even when I'm not working out I want to do healthy things. So before, I used to want to go out to eat a lot and go out for happy hour with the girls. These things were fun and enjoyable, but now I'm not so sure. I want to have control over what I'm putting in my body since I'm working so hard to keep it fit. These things that used to be fun and relaxing now stress me out! I have to either eat before and only order a salad or study the menu and track my calories from any alcoholic drinks. It now takes more work to go out that it used to! It a stress because the atmosphere makes it so hard to stick with my plan. I'd much rather have friends over and cook fun new recipes for them. Or go check out a local art gallery rather than go out for drinks. I think this is going to be a big test in people supporting me and my commitment to reforming into a healthier lifestyle. The first test will be this week. Some of my healthy food potluckgirlfriends want to hang out this Friday night. My plan is to invite them to the reFORM Studio Potluck to get more involved in healthy food! I hope they want to come with me! Check out the reFORM website for more details on the Potluck event, and maybe if you come you will see me there with my supportive friends!
